Tuesday Stations

1. Computer LabPts, Lines, Segments, Rays (copy question and answer to 6 of these and submit them to ensure they are right). Should it say you have reached your limit just close the limiting screen and continue the quiz.
2. 2. Study Boost Station #1: Point, Line, Segment Postulates.
            a)   For this station you will need to create an account at https://studyboost.com/ and save the
Studyboost phone number to your contacts
            b)   Next you will need to search for "Orthographic and Angle..." or "blocks top side view" or
                  enter "klcsiii"
            c)   When you find it, "activate" the batch
            d)   Finally, text the same keywords from part b to the phone number saved in your contacts list and
                  take the quiz.
3. Engineers often use technology to help them create more accurate orthographic drawings of items. Your
mission today is to use Google Sketch (should already be downloaded, if not: http://sketchup.google.com/download/) to create an orthographic/corner view drawing of the item
shown. Also recreate it at Cubespacehttp://www.themaninblue.com/experiment/Cubescape/new.php. For both, show a teacher for credit.

4. Classwork (Due Friday)
5. Vocabulary practice:

Sucess in stations comes when you ask questions about anything you do not understand whether it be Me, Ms. Vidaurri or your group members.

1. Quiz: 1-2  Points, Lines, and Planes
Be sure to record your score. If you don't like your score then take the quiz again.
2. Study Boost Station #1: Point, Line, Segment Postulates.

4. Classwork:

Orthographic and Isometric

This video is essential for your field trip on Wednesday. The concepts are easy but the classwork will be a little more difficult. Part of the classwork will involve you piecing back together snapshots you take of buildings at UTSA. Other project work will involve your knowledge of databases at SAPL and the application of geometry and precision in architecture and sculpture. The quiz on Friday will contain previous concepts, this weeks concepts and those shared by the presenters of the field trip. Do I also see a test looming?

Benchmark 13-24

Remember to watch the video for tomorrow which is below, titled "Real Numbers." If you did not watch the previous video on Prime Factorization please watch it as well. Here are the benchmark questions for tomorrow. We will do them intermittently in small groups, coinciding with our planned outdoor activities.

Before you begin the benchmark be sure to print out the scan-tron, filling in yesterday's answers and continue with today's. You may print it here (right click, then print): SCANTRON

Benchmark 1-12

Real Numbers

Tomorrows activities will take place out doors, so be prepared. Your first activity will be to create a game and note cards which both identify and define particular Real Numbers: Rational, Irrational, Whole, Integers. Your second activity will be to hang your numbers with order, just as you hang your clothes.

Square Root and Prime Factorization

THANKS to everyone who helped sell spaghetti tickets and those who came to help us cook and deliver the meals! UNFORTUNATELY, we lost a lot of money because not everyone helped. We had big plans for today and we fell short because WE DID NOT HAVE THE HELP WE NEEDED. We now have to draw up more fundraisers requiring your participation. We hoped to raise all the money we needed during an easier, fun Arts Ed Week, but now will pursue the money during our harder times of study. For those few HELPERS, YOU WERE AWESOME! Remember, WE NEED MONEY TO GO ON FIELD TRIPS AWAY FROM THE CLASSROOM.

Here is your video lesson for Monday.

10th Grade Spaghetti Fundraiser & Bazaar

Sell, sell, sell students and buy, buy, buy friends, family and supporters! Help us raise money to support the arts and the 10th grade students. We have plenty of field trips planned, but will only reach our goals with the full support of our students and their ability to raise the necessary funding.

Patterns #3: Reasoning: Inductive/Deductive

Remember to watch BOTH of today's videos. There are two which we will investigate tomorrow. It is the beginning of our exploration into "logic and reasoning," an essential key for Geometry and this year's EOC. I encourage you to watch the "inductive and deductive reasoning" video at least twice, because it is a tricky concept and just the beginning; understanding matters!

Patterns #2: Everyday Algebra & Pattern Keys

Remember to watch BOTH of today's videos. There are two which we will investigate tomorrow. It is the beginning of our exploration into "logic and reasoning," an essential key for Geometry and this year's EOC. I encourage you to watch the "inductive and deductive reasoning" video at least twice, because it is a tricky concept and just the beginning; understanding matters!

Patterns #1: Organizing Data & Creating Math Models

Sorry for the delay! Of the 50 lessons I made over the summer, I didn't realize that tomorrows lesson was one I overlooked. I spent the day building and recording it as a couple parts. These videos will be spread out over today and tomorrow. Tomorrow will have two videos and they are already scheduled to pop up on the blog by lunch. Because it is my fault we will have time in class to watch the video for those which need it. Thanks for checking the blog today! I checked the stats and saw that many of you attempted to find this video. Without further ado:
