Boardwork for Jan 9th

Using the table above answer the following questions and post your answers as a comment. Remember there is a vocab page on our blog now, hint, hint.

1. Describe what the table shows above.

2. What does theoretical and experimental probability mean?

3. According to the results of the experimental probability, if you rolled the die 430 times how many 6's should appear?

4. What is the central angle for 3 and 5?

5.  What are the percentages for experimentally rolling a 1 or 2?

6. How far off, or in other words, what is the difference between the theoretical and experimental probability for rolling a 4?

7. What is the difference between a bar graph and a histogram?

8. What was your question and choices for today's polleverywhere homework assignment?

  5. 1) The table above shows the frequency of how many times the die landed on the certain #'s.

    2) Theoretical -----> What should happen
    Experimental-----> What did happen

    3) x/430 = 4/50. = 34.4

    4) 10/50 = x/360 = 72
    9/50 = x/360 = 64.8

    5) 7/50 = x/100 = 14%
    12/50 = x/100 = 48%

    6) Theoretically---->
    Experimentally---->

    7) Bar-Graph-----> Different heights or lengths to show the relationships between different group or categories of data.
    Histogram-----> Is a special kind of bar graph that shows the number of day points that fall within specific intervals of value.

  8. 1) A number and how many times the numbers are rolled
    2) Theoretical is what the frequencyshould be and experimentally is what happens.
    3) Set up the proportion and you get 34.
    4) 3 is 72degrees and 5 is 58degrees
    5) The probabilityof rolling a 1 or 2 is 62%
    6) when you role once you have a 1 out of 6 chance if you do the experiment you role 50 times and get 9 times that 4 rolls out.
